These two are part of a team in iGrow golf, and are also part of an amazing project called Operation 36. Both Ryan and Matt are PGA professionals and teach and coach in North Carolina. In 2009 they created a revolutionary junior golf coaching program. Operation 36 is a culmination of trial and error with golfers age 3-13, and its main goal is to get juniors to shoot 36 or better for nine holes.
I don’t get to play golf as much as I wish I could anymore. I used to play five days a week, and now due to family obligations (like teaching my daughters the game!) I’m limited to two times a week if I’m lucky. That being said I have to make sure that my mental game is stronger than ever and one of the most important ways I do that is a two step process I call finding your hot zone.
What is your hot zone?

I just wanted to drop a quick note to let everyone know that I was the featured guest on this week’s Golficity Podcast. I joined Frank and Mike to talk about one of my most harrowing experiences on a golf course – shooting a 122!
I think it’s important to acknowledge your failures to make sure you learn something from those experiences. My big lesson learned from that day was the power of positive thought. In that episode Frank, Mike, and I discuss my personal strategies that I used to overcome my mental block at this specific golf course. Last week’s interview with Brant Kasbohm was a great look into the process of the golf swing. Not just the specifics but why it’s important to be cognoscente of the process and let the results speak for themselves.
Brant also brings to light the fact that each person can only hit the ball so far. In the end we all have a physical limitation that will cap the distance of our drives and we need to accept that to apply the proper golf strategy.
